Why We Don’t Give The Price On Your New 24 Hour Floor Before We First See Your Existing Floor

In the world of home renovations, remodeling, construction and repairs, no two jobs are exactly alike. There are always numerous factors and variables involved that can cause one specific job to take longer than another. Not to mention the fact that existing structural conditions at one location may be totally different than the structural conditions at another location. Environmental factors also play into this equation as well. At 24 Hour Floor we are very aware of this and generally do not provide our customers in South Florida and the Treasure Coast area with a quote prior to first coming to their location.

“Many customers frequently ask us what the price will be to install a garage floor, driveway, patio or pool deck with a new 24 Hour Floor. We however do not like to provide them with a ballpark number, since there may be existing problems, which have to be taken care of first prior to installing the floor,” commented Lori, Owner of 24 Hour Floor.

“At 24 Hour Floor, we’re dedicated to providing an outstanding experience to our customers with a premium quality product, as well as exemplary customer support,” noted Lori. Therefore, when we go to a home or business for an estimate, we first perform a hardness and moisture test on the area that we’ll be installing a new floor on. In cases where the moisture level exceeds the normal level, we have to add a moisture barrier to the surface prior to installing the floor. The latter also increases the price of the installation, Lori commented.

The existing floor surface is another element that has to be taken into consideration. Whether you have concrete, epoxy, or tile already, the surface will first have to be grinded to create one clean and smooth surface, prior to installing a new floor. Some existing surfaces require more time and labor, resulting in higher costs.

Cracks on an existing floor surface are another matter that have to be addressed as well. At 24 Hour Floor, we first have to fix and repair all existing cracks on your floor’s surface before we install your new floor. This ensures that the floor surface meets our new floor installation standards and the surface is smooth and clean throughout. Hence, fixing these cracks is another factor that contributes to the overall cost of your new floor.

If the cracks on an existing floor are irreparable, or if the moisture level is too high, we will not install a new floor since the floor will not be up to our high standards and there could be subsequent issues as well. Lori noted.
